United Danks Contest
Once again the masters of Trendy Hair Fashion managed to impress the jury as well as the numerous audience made up of coupe of thousand viewers who watched one of the greatest of Asian hairdressers contests.
The ninth edition of prestigious United Danks Contest took place In the Japanese Yokohama Arena which every year attracts about 1200 stylists of Japan called the country of flowering cherry trees, South Korea, China as well as specially invited representatives of Great Britain, Australia, Brazil and Sweden. It was the fifth time that the hairdressers of Trendy Hair Fashion participated in the event, and luckily the fifth time that came back awarded!
On the occasion of four previous editions of UDC the representatives of our network were the artistic directors. This year however within Trendy Hair Fashion there was organized the internal contest for our stylists. It aimed at selecting the winner who will represent THF during United Danks Contest. The proposed designs elaborated by the contestants were evaluated by the following members of jury: the master Naoki Yoshihara, the great designer coming from Belarus- Natasha Pavluchenko , the photograph- Bartosz Lubicz-Gembalski and the TV presenter Paulina Kurzajewska. The jury members decided that the person appointed to go to Japan would be the young hairdresser Marlena Kubicka who works in THF salon in Zabrze.
The preparations period lasted a couple of weeks. The competitor project was being elaborated by the entire artistic team, and the outfit that suited the hairdo was created by the designer who cooperates with THS, Natasha Pavluchenko. The basic haircut together with colouring were done in Poland, whereas the final touches were performed by Marlena in Yokohama under the surveillance of creative director being the founder of Trendy Hair Fashion- Anna Kulec - Karampotis as well as Wojciech Loranc- one of the artistic directors of THF network. Anna is the one who started winning streak of THF when participating in the Japanese contest, while Wojciech together with Mateusz Grzywa were awarder one year later.
United Danks Contest is a gigantic undertaking. For almost 10 years Yokohama Arena where such events as sumo wrestling, football matches and music concerts of the greatest stars take place, attract in autumn numerous hairdressers - over one thousand participates in the contests, whereas other thousand (at least) observes their colleagues from behind the scenes. The stand bursts at the seams crowded with numerous enthusiastic viewers, there are never-ending camera flashes, music in the air and hundreds of video cameras recording that unusual event. The centre of the competition is Yokohama Arena platform, turned on that occasion into a chessboard divided in more than thousand fields.
This-year edition should be considered special as it was accompanied by breaking the Guinness record as far as the number of participants is concerned- there were almost 1300 of them. The representatives of Guinness were present at the competition and they took care of counting and taking pictures of contestants as precisely as possible. Due to that fact the atmosphere of the competition was solemn and its high level unchangeably matched that of previous editions.
